Dr. Giallanza has been been in private practice since 2008 and founded "North Carolina Neurology & Sleep" in 2010.  He was born and raised in Western New York near Buffalo. He completed his undergraduate training in upstate New York at Skidmore College, where he majored in Biology with a sub-specialization in molecular biology. Before entering medical school, he performed research studying DNA repair mechanisms at Albany Medical College. He completed his medical school training and internship at the University at Buffalo, School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. He further completed his neurology residency and sleep fellowship at the Universiy of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During his fellowship, Dr. Giallanza conducted research in sleep disturbances related to mild traumatic brain injury. 

Dr. Giallanza is a board certified neurologist and board certified sleep specialist. He treats a wide range of neurologic disorders including but not limited to: migraine, stroke, epilepsy, neuropathy, myopathy, traumatic brain injury,  sleep disorders (e.g. sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy), degenerative disc disease, dementia (e.g. Alzheimer's disease), multiple sclerosis, Huntington's chorea, ALS, movement disorders (e.g. Parkinson's Disease), Tourette syndrome, restless leg syndrome,  attention deficit disorders and many more.
